Example Monograms
So I've been thinking a lot about doing my own invitations. I recently stumbled upon a blog by a girl named Heather who did a lot of her own stuff. Her blog can be found here: Road to the Aisle. She did her own invitations and they came out looking beautiful! I'm totally jealous of her talent! Anyway, I looked for some other examples of invitations and most, if not all, included some sort of monogram. So I've been playing around with creating my own monogram. I've borrowed inspiration from a lot of different sources and here's what I've come up with so far:
Oh, I should probably point out that those dates are just examples. Seth and I haven't set a date yet. We're going to look at reception sites and depending on what's available when, that will be the deciding factor.

Hi, I just stumbled upon your blog, congrats on the upcoming wedding, I'm a bride to be also. And I'm making lots of stuff for the wedding, not really to save money, just because I'm quite craft and enjoy it, I also think it will add a personal touch so if you need someone to chat with about crafty stuff, i can be a sounding board. hope it goes well.

p.s. when is the wedding booked for?
Chantele, it's nice to hear from you! Congratulations on your engagement and good luck with all the wedding planning! I actually haven't booked a date yet for the wedding. Seth and I are having a slow start with things. I'm finally just getting my butt in gear to start looking at reception venues. Seth and I aren't really concerned about what date the wedding is on so we're just going to try to find a venue we like and then book whatever they have available. We're aiming for somewhere between May and October 2010. When's your wedding booked for?
ReplyDeleteOurs is 8th May 2010. We have been engaged 3 years, but were both at uni so didnt have time or money to do the wedding bit. So now he is finished and I finish in May this year I decided it was about time to get started. We booked church and reception at the start of december and everything has just kinda snowballed since then. Luckily my mother is mega organised too so she has been book appointments with people back home and somehow we have everyone booked except our band and choir, at least I think thats everyone. I'm glad I started early though, were we are things get booked up really fast, we already had to move the actually date forward 2 weeks because our reception venue was booked up. You will have great fun once it all starts, I'm loving it.

Congratulations! I love the fact that you're going to do your own monogram. However, given the names of Megan and Seth, please veer away from "S&M". It's a little too sadomasochistic for a happy occasion. :)
ReplyDeleteMy vote is for the one in the center.
hahaha, thanks Nick! I didn't even think of that! I guess I'm just used to being S&M. Maybe I can switch some of them to be M&S instead. :P
