House Hunting and Other Stuff

So I'm very excited! Seth and I have started the house hunt! We met with a realtor on Saturday from Suburban Realty, Inc. She was super nice! I'm very excited! She got me set up to be sent e-mails about listings and gave me some names of people to talk to about mortgages. It's an exciting time! Next step: get approved for a mortgage. After that: look at houses!

Thank you Nick for pointing out some of my monograms might not be exactly what I want. He pointed out that S&M actually has another meaning than Seth & Megan, which I knew, but had forgotten. Oops! Maybe not the best monogram to use, especially around grandparents! Wouldn't that be funny! Okay, maybe not.

So I showed Seth the monograms. He said he liked the two middle ones the best. Apparently the others are too "flowy" or something. Blah. I probably shouldn't have shown him. He picked the two I like the least! Now I'm not sure what to do. I guess I should design some more that I like that aren't too "flowy". Yeah right.

Besides monograms, I thought I'd show a picture of the bridesmaids dress I'm looking at. This is, of course, not set in stone, and I haven't seen it in person, but I like the cut and I love the color. This color is currently my inspiration for wedding colors. What do people think? It's from Jasmine Bridal.

  1. Love the colour!! But you need to think if it will suit the size and shape of all your bridesmaids? Luckily mine are all slim but varing in hight, but my dresses are being made so the length will be fitted to the person. Just a thought for you.
Good luck with the house, wish me and jon were in the position to buy.
I did get the other meaning off the monograms but wasnt sure if it would be the same in the us as it is here in the uk, so didnt mention it, lol.

  2. Yes, I'm also concerned about how these dresses will look on all of my bridesmaids. From the way it looks in the picture, it looks like an A-line skirt and so it may just flow out and away from the body. I'm trying to avoid anything "clingy" for exactly this reason. I think it'll really depend on the fabric. I may just end up letting my bridesmaids choose their own dresses as long as the color and length are the same, but I'm not sure. I really like this dress, but I definitely don't want anyone looking frumpy in it! I'll probably have to just go have them all try it on and see how it goes.

  3. Does any stores near you stock Jasmine Bridal? You could take your bridesmaids down and get them to try it on, even if its the wrong colour because at least then you will know if it will suit them. Im not a fan so the all different dresses mainly because im a control freak and like everything perfect and matching, But as long as you trust them to keep it within certain boundaries it would be ok. here is the link (hopefully it will work) http://watters.com/dress_popup.php?showid=598 to what my bridesmaids dresses will look like. the top is the same but with a thinner ribbon and vintage brooch and a little longer but the skirt will be different, an ivory 60's style swing skirt. so ballerina length but a little full.
